On Saturday 26/10/2024, the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union held its regular meeting in Erbil, supervised by Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union.

In his speech, the Secretary-General of the KIU highlighted the political situation in Kurdistan, Iraq, and the region and presented the developments and changes, he once again condemned the genocide and massacre of the people of Gaza and Lebanon by the Israeli occupation army for more than a year and condemned last night's Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will destroy regional security.

In another topic, the election process was evaluated and the violations that occurred in the process, and the election bureau was instructed to follow up in coordination with other parties and take the necessary work in this regard, the meeting also unanimously decided that the KIU will not participate in the next cabinet of the KRG and continue its opposition in the Kurdistan Parliament.

Regarding the peace process in Turkey, the Executive Council welcomed the efforts currently being made to resolve the Kurdish issue peacefully and provide rights through dialogue and negotiations.

In another part of the meeting discussed the preparations for the ninth congress of the Kurdistan Islamic Union on schedule.

Finally, thanked all the party organs that were able to conduct the election campaign in a very successful manner in the past, as well as congratulated the winning candidates and wished them success in their work in the Kurdistan Parliament.
