The Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, issued a statement on Tuesday on the occasion of the announcement of the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Parliament elections.

The Secretary-General said in his statement, "We thank God Almighty for holding the Kurdistan Parliament elections in safety and security, and we congratulate the winning lists and candidates who gained the voters' confidence."

He added, "We hope that the Kurdistan Region will be safe and that we will witness a campaign from all parties to restore confidence and the prestige of the parliament."
