The secretary-general of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, cast his vote in the Kurdistan Parliament elections in Sulaymaniyah on Sunday.

In a speech after casting his vote, the Secretary-General said, "We call on everyone to participate in the elections and vote for competent people so that the parliament will be influential and trustworthy for the next four years."

He added, "Today is an important and pivotal day. The people and the authorities need this day, and we hope that citizens will be aware while voting because the situation in the Kurdistan Region cannot bear further deterioration than the current one and must be changed for the better."

Regarding the political forces and parties, Salahuddin Mohammed Bahaaddin said, "After the voting process, the process of starting parliament and forming the new government according to the election results should not be delayed."
