During his visit to Halabja, the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, and his accompanying delegation held a meeting with a number of members and cadres of the union in the city on Friday.

In a speech during the meeting, the Secretary-General said, "The Kurdistan Islamic Union will seriously participate in the elections, and for that reason, it has nominated a large number of qualified and experienced people to win seats in parliament."

He added that "during the 30 years of its life, the brothers and sisters in the union have worked side by side, and it is a source of pleasure for us to face the citizens with pride without anyone blaming us for the loss of their loved ones or being subjected to injustice by us."

He stressed that "on the contrary, we have always been and still are a source of sponsorship for hundreds of orphans and the upbringing of individuals, which is an important issue and a great blessing that calls us to thank God Almighty."
