The Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaddin, held mourning ceremonies for Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Al-Rashed on Saturday in Erbil in the presence of members of the Executive and Leadership Council and the General Shura Council.

Several religious scholars, Islamic thinkers and students of Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Al-Rashed from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region participated in the ceremonies.

In his speech, the Secretary-General referred to the role and personality of the late Sheikh, stressing that he had an effective role in the reform project in Iraq and in serving the message of Islam through preaching, sermons, writings and books.
