Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union participates in a ceremony honoring religious scholars

On Saturday, the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahaddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, participated in a ceremony honoring several religious scholars, which was held by the Foundation for Scholars and Sharia Sciences in the Kurdistan Islamic Union in the city of Sulaymaniyah.

In a speech he delivered on the occasion, the Secretary-General said, “Our venerable scholars had and continue to have a noble stance and never took the position of spectators regarding current events. On the contrary, they had important and influential positions in all areas of the lives of citizens,” stressing that “the Islamic awakening is indebted to the Muslim scholars who are considered the basis of awakening.”

He added, "From the position of my position and duty, I extend my thanks to the scholars who continue to administer the religious duty, organize work, and innovate in it, and they are a site of pride for us."

He pointed out that "scholars were able to quickly integrate with media institutions and social networking sites, which makes preaching work better in conveying the divine message better and more," explaining that "those who obey the advice of scholars can create a better and happier life for their families and those around them."

It is noteworthy that the Foundation for Scholars and Sharia Sciences in the Kurdistan Islamic Union, through these ceremonies, honored several retired scholars who devoted more than 50 years of their lives to serving preaching.
