Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, sent on Friday, a message of condolence for the death of the preacher Sheikh Issam al-Attar.

Secretary-General said in his message, "Today we received news of the death of the thinker, scholar, poet, and former observer of the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, Sheikh Issam Al-Attar, at the age of 97 years, in the German city of Aachen."

He added, "The deceased was an example of a successful preacher and an inspiring leader, and he was in a constant struggle with the oppressors, as his wife was martyred in this struggle," explaining that, "his pen wrote with truth, pulsed with literature, and pursued moderate thought."

He concluded his message by saying, "I pray to the Almighty God to admit him to Paradise and reward him for nearly a century of struggle and service."
