The Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, praised on Wednesday the decision of the Federal Supreme Court regarding the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees.
The Secretary-General said in a video posted on his social media website, “The Kurdistan Islamic Union’s complaint, registered through the lawyer (Bakr Hama Siddiq Arif), has been settled in favor of employees and salary recipients in the Kurdistan region after postponement for several sessions.”
He added, "The court's decision is to return rights to their owners, and we are happy with this decision, and that what happened in previous years was an injustice against the citizens of the Kurdistan region."
Regarding the impact of the decision on the entity of the Kurdistan Region, he stressed that “the entity of the Kurdistan Region is a constitutional entity and the court’s decision will not affect its entity, but unfortunately, the authorities in the region have brought matters to what they are now,".
As for the court’s decision regarding the Kurdistan Parliament elections, the Secretary-General stressed that “we hope that the date for holding the elections will be set as soon as possible, and that the United Nations and other competent authorities work from now on to carefully monitor the elections.”
