Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union visits the district of Sayed Sadiq

The Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin, and his accompanying delegation visited on Saturday, the district of Sayed Sadiq in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, and met with a number of women's cadres of the Union.

In a speech during the meeting, the Secretary-General affirmed, "The sisters enjoy within the ranks of the Islamic Union the safest place that preserves their dignity, status and appreciation, and this is part of the highest morals and values."

He added, "A lot of women's issues and their rights are discussed, but we in the Kurdistan Islamic Union, from the beginning, have involved women alongside their male brothers in the political, organizational and administrative process."

He stressed that "unfortunately today, women's issues are being used and exploited in inappropriate issues and issues that are strange to society, such as atheism, pornography, and homosexuality."

In the context of his visit to the city, the Secretary-General inspected the Kurdistan Students Development Organization, and said in a speech during the meeting, "Students and youth have always been role models for change and the fight against injustice and corruption."

He pointed out that "although the authorities in the Kurdistan region are working to spread despair and loss of hope among students and youth, they must not give up and continue fighting the oppressors and the corrupt."
