Secretary-General of the KIU: Iraqi issues should be resolved through national dialogue

Salahuddin Mohammed Bahauddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, said that the problems in Iraq have harmed all communities and nations, and should be resolved through national dialogue.

The press office of the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union said in a statement that "Salahuddin Mohammad Bahauddin received Iranian Consul General in the Kurdistan region Mahdi Shushtari and an accompanying delegation in Sulaimani on Monday, during the meeting Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union said that "The problems facing Iraq have disrupted parliament and stalled negotiations. They need to be resolved through national dialogue in accordance with the law and the constitution."

In another part of his speech, he added that "The failure to solve the problems of Iraq and their growth is not in the interest of anyone and all communities and nations will suffer together, so it is important for everyone to try to calm the situation within the framework of national dialogue".

For his part, the Iranian Consul General thanked the Secretary-General and the leadership of the KIU for their efforts to resolve the issue and announced that "The problems of Baghdad are the problems of all Iraqi communities without distinction. The Kurds should play a positive role in resolving these problems, and the problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad should be discussed and resolved in accordance with the constitution."
