Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, and his accompanying delegation participated, on Saturday, in the city of Halabja, in a seminar of Sayed Najmuddin Taha.
During the meeting, Secretary-General said in his speech that "Sayed Najmuddin Taha was a great scholar, and his works testify to him and his students an important and influential role in society."
He added, "Sayed Najmuddin Taha, in addition to teaching Sharia sciences, was a virtuous educator for his students. He was a calm, honest, preacher, and a great scholar, and he was a source of pride for all of us."
He stressed that "the Kurdish sheikhs and religious scholars have always been a source of pride for us, whether they are famous or not."
He indicated that "the original Kurdish sheikh presented himself to exile and travel in order to preserve his religious personality and presented himself and his life as an offering to religion," adding that "the efforts and struggle of religious scholars were the reason for the Kurdish society's adherence to authenticity, religiosity and adherence to the rites of Islam."
