Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, on Monday, sent a message on the occasion of International Women's Day.
In his message, Secretary-General said, "We extend our greetings to the women of Kurdistan and all women in the world, especially the sisters in the Islamic Union of Kurdistan Sisters, and I wish them continued success."
"The struggle of the sisters in the reform movement, correcting the concepts of life and performing constructive roles are among the basics of humanity, health education, and the formation of generations," he added.
He indicated that "women are equal as a wife, mother, sister, and daughter. They have a special and unique position in the Islamic religion. They are known as the Gates of Paradise" adding that "therefore, the success of women is the basis of all stability and success of societies."
He pointed out that "Islam wants women to play their role in all areas of life, and it is against their disdain under any name."
Secretary-General stressed that "the Kurdistan Islamic Union is working and still working for preserving the prestige of the family, the sanctity of marital ties, justice in human dignity, and encouraging women to perform their roles in society".
