Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, warned of the seriousness of the situation.
Commenting on the student demonstrations in Sulaymaniyah and other places, the Secretary-General said in a tweet on Twitter, "The students' demands are legitimate and are part of the youth's problems," adding, "The violent incidents that accompanied the demonstrations will harm education centers."
He stressed that "the conditions are favorable for the situation to turn into a political earthquake, which was mixed with the injustice felt by the citizens." However, he added, "I ask the authorities to expedite the implementation of their demands and resolve them."
