Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaudin stressed that the time is appropriate to hold the referendum.
Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaudin during a press conference held on Sunday 24/9/2017 at the headquarters of the Political Council in the city of Erbil, he explained that the Kurds exercise their natural right in the referendum, and his party is proud to participate in this regard.
He pointed out that the Kurds have coexisted with Baghdad for years without success, pointing out that the right to self-determination is a right for all peoples, especially the people of Kurdistan, which has been subjected to injustice, oppression and genocide, appealing to neighboring countries and the world to understand the Kurdish issue, reassuring citizens of the absence of military or economic risks on the territory because of the referendum.
Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union stressed that they continue to reform, and that the referendum file does not dissuade them from reform, and independence is from the strategies of the party, stressing the importance of activating the role of parliament more to improve living conditions, criticizing voices that try to intimidate citizens.
He appealed to the citizens to vote for the "yes" in the referendum scheduled for Monday, 25/9/2017 in the cities of the Kurdistan Region and the regions outside the Kurdistan region adminstration .
